A couple living in Berlin-Mitte is expecting their first baby at the end of November and is looking for a loving, experienced nanny to join their family from January 2027.
Originally from Austria and Hanover, the parents have lived in Berlin for eight years and run a growing fashion business together. Their lives are busy, creative and sometimes spontaneous, but they value a relaxed, positive atmosphere at home.
Both parents work full-time, with their office conveniently located in the same building as their apartment. This means at least one parent will usually be nearby, but they are looking for someone they can fully trust to care for their baby while they focus on work.
As first-time parents, they hope to find someone who will become a familiar, trusted part of their family’s everyday life. They value a collaborative, relaxed working relationship built on warmth, mutual respect and open communication.
About the Role
The nanny will be responsible for providing loving, attentive and developmentally appropriate care for the family’s infant son during the week.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Providing nurturing, attentive infant care
- Supporting feeding, naps and daily routines
- Taking the baby for walks and spending time outdoors
- Engaging in gentle, age-appropriate play and developmental activities
- Washing and folding the baby’s clothes
- Cleaning bottles and feeding equipment
- Tidying and organizing the baby’s belongings
- Preparing baby-related supplies as needed
The family envisions a relaxed, flexible daily routine rather than an overly rigid schedule. The nanny should feel comfortable taking initiative, working independently when needed and collaborating closely with the parents.
The Ideal Candidate
The family is looking for a warm, trustworthy and experienced nanny who genuinely loves caring for babies.
Must-have qualities:
- Proven experience caring for newborns and young infants
- A loving, patient and nurturing approach to childcare
- Excellent reliability and clear, honest communication
- A positive, easy-going personality
- Confidence caring for a young infant while parents work nearby
- A proactive attitude and willingness to help with baby-related household tasks
- Flexibility and comfort in a lively, creative household
- Respect for the parents’ wishes and approach to raising their child
Language Requirements:
- Native or near-native English preferred, but flexible
- German-speaking candidates are also welcome
Additional Information
The family is ideally looking for at least 4-5 hours of support daily, but they are flexible regarding the exact working hours and open to discussing the schedule with the right candidate. They are also open to offering a full time schedule (8h/day) depending on the right candidate.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced infant nanny looking for a stable, long-term position with a friendly, creative family. The parents hope to find someone who will become a trusted presence during their baby’s first year, building a positive and lasting relationship with the whole family.
