A multilingual family in Berlin-Schöneberg is looking for a kind, experienced and highly reliable nanny to care for their baby daughter, beginning in January 2027.
The family has three children: a 6-year-old girl, a 4-year-old boy and their baby daughter. The older children attend school and kindergarten, so the nanny’s role will focus exclusively on the baby. The mother primarily works from home.
About the Role
The nanny will take the lead in caring for the family’s youngest daughter during the working day. Responsibilities will include:
- Age-appropriate play and developmental activities
- Reading, singing, talking and tummy time
- Walks and outdoor time
- Supporting naps and feeding routines
- Bottle feeding expressed breast milk when needed
- Introducing and preparing simple foods as the baby begins solids
- Providing warm, attentive and responsive care
The mother will be working from home and breastfeeding, so the nanny should be comfortable taking responsibility for the baby while a parent is present.
During naps, the family would appreciate help with light, baby-related tasks only, such as baby laundry, bottles and dishes, restocking supplies and tidying toys.
The Ideal Nanny
The family is looking for someone who genuinely loves working with babies and sees childcare as a profession. Their ideal nanny is:
- Warm, kind and nurturing
- Highly reliable and punctual
- Experienced with infants
- Calm, patient and safety-conscious
- Professional and communicative
- Interested in child development
- Proactive and organised
- Comfortable working alongside a work-from-home parent
- Respectful of the family’s parenting choices and routines
- Engaged and present, with minimal personal phone use
Languages
The family speaks Portuguese, French and German at home and is also fluent in English. They would be particularly happy to meet candidates who speak Portuguese, French or English, although this is not a strict requirement.
About the Family
The family describes themselves as relaxed and easy-going while having high standards for their children’s safety, wellbeing and development.
They hope to find what they affectionately call a “nounou d’amour”: someone who genuinely cares for their daughter and takes pride in helping her learn, explore and thrive.
Open communication, mutual respect, kindness and reliability are especially important. Whether they find one nanny for the entire period or two nannies for the separate contracts, their priority is finding an experienced, caring and trustworthy person for their daughter.
