How does the search process work?
- Fill out an application and schedule your free intro call
- Complete your registration and pay your €150 activation fee
- Review between 1-3 nanny profiles, chosen for your family
- Invite your candidate(s) to a 30-minute intro meeting
- Schedule a trial day
- Sign contract and begin working with your nanny
- Pay 12% commission fee when your nanny passes her probation period
How long does the search process take?
Every search is different, so unfortunately we can’t give you an exact estimate. We ask for a lead time of up to 3 months. This gives us time to craft the perfect job listing for your family, and recruit candidates if necessary.
How much does the search process cost?
There is a €150 deposit required to start your official search for a part-time nanny. This is a deposit, and will be credited toward the commission fee.
Is there a minimum number of hours I need to set up a contract?
Yes. Our minimum contracts are for 3 hours per week. Any shift must be a minimum of 3 hours.
Can I hire a part-time nanny on a minijob contract?
Yes, it is possible to hire a Lighthouse Nanny on a minijob contract. A minijob is a tax threshold in Germany for employment in which the employee earns less than €603 per month. This means your nanny might work one or two afternoons per week, depending on her hourly rate.
Can I hire a part-time nanny on a midijob contract?
Yes, it is possible to hire a nanny on a midijob contract. A midijob is a tax threshold in Germany for employment in which the employee earns between €603 and €2000 per month. Unlike with a minijob, midijob employers are still obligated to pay social contributions for their employees.
Can I work with a part-time nanny on a freelance contract?
Yes, it is possible to work with a freelance nanny. However, this will depend on what kind of job assignment you are offering, the number of hours involved, and whether or not the candidate your family chooses is a registered freelancer.
